Raise the Bar Psychology

Raise the Bar Psychology is a private educational and developmental psychology clinic. We have an extensive background in educational and neurodevelopmental assessment and intervention for children, adolescents, and adults. Our clinic has been custom designed to meet the needs of individuals with developmental differences, individualised needs, and learning difficulties.

Our Assessment Process is thoughtfully designed to guide you and your family every step of the way. From your initial inquiry to ongoing support, we prioritise understanding your unique needs and goals. Each stage ensures clear communication, professional insights, and compassionate care, so you feel confident and informed throughout your journey with us.

Step 1​ : Booking & Consent​

Share your concerns, goals, and needs so that we can match you with the right psychologist and assessment.

Step 2 : Clinical Intake

Meet with your psychologist to share background information. Your psychologist will explain the assessment process and what to expect.

Step 3 : Assessment

Meet with your psychologist at the clinic. The number of visits depends on the needs of the client and is usually 1 to 3 visits. Ask questions and receive feedback as you go.

Step 4 : Feedback

Receive a clear and simple explanation of assessment results. Ask questions. Plan a clear path forward. A comprehensive and personalised report is provided.

Step 5 : Ongoing support

We offer child friendly feedback sessions, school consultation, and parent support. Many families return to monitor progress and to review recommendations in preparation for important transitions (e.g., starting primary, secondary or tertiary education).

Counselling & Consultation

While your journey may start with assessment, it doesn’t end there. We offer one-off and ongoing advice and support for individuals and families to help them understand assessment results and implement recommendations across home, school and work.

Our psychologists also provide person-centred, trauma-informed and neuro-affirming counselling and support for children, adolescents and adults.

Parenting Support

Raise the Bar Psychology provides individualised and tailored support for parents seeking to understand their child’s uniqueness and develop skills and strategies for supporting their development and responding to challenging behaviours.

Study Skills

Strategies and supports for study skills and memory can help reduce stress and improve learning outcomes. We provide online study skills and memory strategy groups ideal for year 9 to 12 students motivated to improve their approach to learning and school. Individualised support sessions are also available for secondary and post-secondary students.

Professional Development & Training

Supervision and training is available for educational staff, psychologists and allied health professionals.
